Quality and efficiency win the race! Münster druck design, the specialist for sparkling wine and wine labels from the Hessian town of Oestrich-Winkel, will in future rely on the MJETeco digital printing unit from KURZ subsidiary MPRINT. Münster druck design was able to experience all the advantages of the innovative machine first-hand in advance as part of the KURZ LABEL WEEKS.
It is a great success story and a prime example of how personal customer contact and hands-on experiences on site continue to play a key role in times of pandemic-related trade fair cancelations and advancing digitalization. Curtain up for the KURZ LABEL WEEKS: At the large in-house exhibition on the premises of the company's headquarters in Fürth, LEONHARD KURZ has been presenting innovative solutions for surface finishing in the label and packaging sector as well as an extensive range of machines - including the MJETeco - on an area of more than 400 square meters. It is designed for the efficient subsequent customization of labels that have already been produced, finished, and weeded, and can apply text imprints, small-series data, as well as QR and barcodes in crisp and clean resolution, among other things. It also enables printing of special features for product and brand protection.
MJETeco is produced by the KURZ subsidiary MPRINT, a global manufacturer of digital printing and finishing machines for the graphics industry. Not surprisingly, it was our MPRINT colleagues who invited Münster druck design to the KURZ LABEL WEEKS in the Franconian city of Fürth. You could say it was perfect timing because the label specialist from the Rheingau region - a fourth-generation family company - had been planning to expand its own machine portfolio and was already interested in the MJETeco imprinting system.
“We were looking for a unit to customize champagne and wine labels that had already been finished, by overprinting primarily natural papers in high quality. It was important to us to specifically test the quality of digital printing on our customer substrates - and KURZ LABEL WEEKS were of course the perfect opportunity for this.”
As some tests were absolutely necessary to check the machine’s printing quality on the labels produced in-house, an appointment was arranged at the KURZ in-house trade fair. The customer-specific material could then be printed directly on site as part of live jobs, and we worked together to optimize the print image. In a nutshell, two weeks after the visit to the in-house trade fair, Klaus Münster and his team decided to purchase the machine and take it over directly after KURZ LABEL WEEKS.
“We’re very pleased that we were able to impress Münster druck design with the quality of the MJETeco on site and achieve the best possible print results by working together. This shows once again how important it is to work hand in hand with customers and to experience our products and services live.”
With MJETeco, MPRINT relies on proven monojet® technology, which ensures outstanding print quality and can be applied to a wide range of substrates - including difficult, open-pore materials. UV LED curable inks are used, which allows both conventional (flexo or offset printing) and digitally printed labels to be overprinted and customized. In addition to the versatile application possibilities, the machine is also distinguished by its impressive speed of up to 75 m/min. This makes it possible to efficiently customize large quantities in a short period of time without any problems. The simple operation reduces the time required and at the same time offers extensive protection of the print head against damage due to incorrect operation. If necessary, MPRINT can also remotely access the control system, correct operating errors, and reset machine parameters.
“We were immediately impressed by the simple operation of the printer. Ultimately, the MJETeco’s outstanding print results and high working speed were decisive for our purchase.”
With its compact dimensions, easy installation, and almost silent operation, the machine can be placed not only directly on the final production line for just-in-time operation, but also easily in an office, for example. Thanks to the UV LED technology, the system is completely ozone-free and contains no mercury components - complex exhaust air systems to the outside are not required. The MJETeco also impresses with its flexible retrofitting options. If individual customer requirements change, the system can be expanded with various optional components with little effort. Although the MJETeco is the most compact machine in the MJET family, it still offers uncompromising, high-performance technology and, with its all-inclusive software package, is an economical, complete kit for variable data printing.
