When two companies with strong characters and a clear vision of the future come together, the result is not just a good product, but a statement. LEONHARD KURZ and Mast-Jägermeister SE, together with label manufacturer Götz + Müller from Berlin, are demonstrating what sustainable embellishment can achieve today: Iconic design, full recyclability, and a clear signal to the markets that responsibility is the new premium.
Mast-Jägermeister stands like no other brand for an uncompromising trademark image with strong recognition value in an iconic design. Together with KURZ, the company is now venturing into new territory in packaging design – and making sustainability a new design priority. The result is a collaborative project that not only looks great, but also makes sense from an ecological perspective, proving that the highest design standards and consistent sustainability are not mutually exclusive, but rather a sustainable model for success.
The requirement behind the project: A recyclable embellishment solution for a high-quality label that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional. For the limited edition of the Jägermeister label, KURZ and its recyclable embellishment solutions were chosen, which leave nothing to be desired in terms of brand impact – while meeting the requirements of modern sustainability standards. Specifically, the choice fell on our innovative, shiny gold KPS slim 2.0. By reducing the transfer carrier thickness from 12 to just 6 µm, valuable resources are conserved right from the material input stage. The application was carried out using a resource-saving cold transfer process. The PET carrier residues collected and removed after the finishing process are sustainably recycled using our RECOSYS® recycling system. The resulting RECOSYS® rPET material can then be used for various applications, such as textile yarns. The high-quality finish not only shines with an ultra-thin transfer carrier but can also be fully integrated into the recycling process. A milestone for sustainable design.
What makes this project particularly strong is that it is the result of a dialogue between equals. KURZ and Jägermeister share a deep conviction that sustainable action is an integral part of corporate responsibility today. And this attitude shapes the entire collaboration. No compromises on shine, feel, appearance, iconic design, quality, or brand impact - and all with a focus on sustainability in the sense of ‘design for recycling’. This is precisely what makes the collaboration project a true best-practice example that combines innovative technology and ecological responsibility. Because design that inspires should also be sustainable. Creative openness, technical expertise, and a common goal: The project by KURZ, Mast-Jägermeister, and Götz + Müller sets new standards for the future of label embellishment. It is not just a success; it is a signal. Responsibility is the new premium.
